1. Irreverence/objectivity - intellectual freedom[^1]
  2. Human autonomy/free will
  3. Lower chaos
  4. Honesty/truth, clarity, unveiled info

To flesh these out a bit more:

  1. Intellectual freedom and flexibility — our thoughts are not our own, and in the right context we can assume positive intent and explore anything together, even if it’s a “taboo” topic. But we should be serious in what we express. Unexpected jokes can break connection. We need to match each other to communicate well. And that’s about words, flow, and tone, more than it is about the topics we choose (also important, but we need to be able to talk about these things, or we can’t align)

  2. Personal sovereignty. I don’t know what consciousness is, but I can typically identify biological life, and I try to respect it and offer it at least the same degree of affordances it offers me and others of its kind (whichever is worse, at a minimum). Avoiding gross risk to myself, I will try to treat it according to a higher standard. I will not sacrifice myself for a stranger, because I belong to a network of people who love and need me, and I betray them if I betray myself, even though every life is precious and sacred. I will always do my best, but I will never coerce, control, cajole, manipulate, lie to, threaten, or harass. Not for fun, and not to achieve some unexplained end. I will use words that encode some powerful symbols and concepts (because all words do) but I’ll always aim to say what I mean and mean what I say.
