Want to build tools that help people collect, analyze, and make sense of information and data, share and exchange data, and create/produce/release data.
Why
One sentence: We can understand the world and make better decisions when we are equipped with tools to process and leverage data effectively, helping us in the pursuit of our never-ending goal.
One of the hardest things for us to do as humans is to process information. For this reason, we have so many heuristics and methods to do so, including emotions, intuition, “common sense,” culture, group consensus, superstition, and many others.
These are all effective tools, but limited in each of their own rights. We will continue to benefit from the glacial process of biological evolution, and the more rapid and sometimes rough process of cultural evolution. At the same time, we have augmented our abilities with information technology—calculators, computers, statistics, LLMs, and the like. Processing power, tools, and techniques abound! Have they been perfectly applied? Certainly not! We can do better, and we will unlock untold wealth for countless people, as we do.
